By using ASCII Toolbox (the “Site” or “Tool”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Tool.
What to expect
- ASCII Toolbox is a free browser tool for converting 3D models, images, and video into ASCII art.
- Conversion and export run in your browser on your device. Creative files are not sent to a server for processing.
- Results depend on your file, browser, device, and settings. Output quality, speed, supported formats, and available features may vary and can change over time.
- The Tool may be unavailable, incomplete, experimental, or contain bugs. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice.
- Optional advertising or third-party scripts may appear on the Site when enabled. Those parties have their own terms and policies.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the files you open in the Tool and for having the rights to use them.
- You are responsible for backing up your work. Do not rely on the Tool as your only copy of important files.
- You agree not to misuse the Site (for example, attempting to disrupt it, overload it, or use it for unlawful purposes).
Your content
You keep ownership of the files you open and of the exports you create. We claim no rights in that content. You may use, share, or sell your exports as you like, as long as you had the rights to use the source files.
Reuse of the Software
Running the official Tool is allowed under these Terms. All other rights in the Software are reserved. Copying, redistributing, rebranding, or otherwise reusing the Software beyond using the official Tool is not granted here and needs prior written permission. Whether or when a request is reviewed or granted is not promised.
No warranties
THE TOOL AND SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE TOOL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, FILES, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE TOOL OR SITE—EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS WAS POSSIBLE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE TOOL OR SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) TO USE THE TOOL IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ZERO DOLLARS (US$0), SINCE THE TOOL IS OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE.
Some places do not allow certain limitations. If those rules apply to you, some of the above may not fully apply, but liability will still be limited to the fullest extent allowed.
Privacy
How the Site handles information is described in the Privacy policy.
Changes
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change when that happens. Continued use of the Tool after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
